All-on-4®: A More Cost-effective Dental Implant Technique
With the introduction of dental implants, patients are now able to achieve a fuller and more functional smile without having to worry about their denture slipping or moving. As a variation to standard implants, our doctors at Southern Dental Implant Center offer a more cost-effective and conservative dental implants treatment called All-on-4® at our office in Cordova, TN. This technique relies on fewer implants, which are strategically placed to deliver a minimally invasive, long-lasting solution for missing teeth.
Understanding the All-on-4® Technique
Instead of using six or more traditional dental implants to support a full-arch restoration, All-on-4® uses just four implants to uphold a denture. The four implants are strategically placed, with the two front implants inserted in an upright position, and the two back implants placed at a 45-degree angle, pointing towards the front of the jaw. This strategic placement and the precision of our doctors can create a stable foundation for restorations with a less invasive procedure. Since the implants are inserted at such an angle and make the most of your current bone tissue, one of the compelling benefits is that patients with minor bone atrophy may not require bone grafting prior to the procedure.
Pros and Cons of All-on-4®
During a consultation and a thorough examination, our doctors can help you determine which type of restoration and treatment is right for you. Dental implants provide a great solution, offering life-changing advantages. The All-on-4® technique offers additional unique benefits, including:
- Strength and Durability: With the use of advanced imaging, we will find the optimal place to insert your implants to ensure long-lasting strength and support.
- Fast Results: Immediately following the placement of the implants, a denture or Same Day teeth™ can be placed to completely restore your smile during the same visit.
- Conservative: We use the minimal number of implants necessary to properly attach the restoration and place the implant posts to make the most of your current bone tissue and create less of an impact on your jaw.
- Cost Effective: Traditionally, an implant-supported denture would require six or more implants, but with the All-on-4® method, the fewer implants result in a most cost-effective solution.
It is our goal to find the solution that is right for you, and to help you achieve the fuller, more functional smile you deserve.
Although the technique offers some distinct benefits, it may not offer the best solution for everyone. Some patients will not require a full-arch restoration or will need extra support and jawbone stimulation provided by more traditional dental implant approaches. Our team can discuss your options, explain the advantages of all treatment solutions, and what you expect from treatment.
