Porcelain Veneers & Porcelain Crowns : Case 11
This gentleman presented to Dr. Collier's care missing a number of teeth, having previously been restored with bridges that he was very unhappy with. He also had a number of other teeth needing to be removed. Another concern of this gentleman was that his children and grandchildren were regularly commenting on his yellow teeth...and he was ready to fix it all to a place where he would be comfortable and happy with his smile for long term. We replaced missing teeth with implants and restored his teeth with a full smile redesign with crowns and veneers. As always...this patient and Dr. Collier sat down before any teeth were touched and discussed the goals of treatment. The patient custom selected what he wanted his smile to look like. A wax up was fabricated to what his final smile was proposed to look like and function like. During the patient's "temporary" phase, when he was wearing temporary crowns and veneers while the porcelain was being made, this patient had the opportunity to try out what his new smile and bite was going to be like. We also call these prototypes or the prototype phase of treatment. If any changes are requested, these can easily be made at this time and then communicated back to the lab with new models and photos of the changes. The master lab technicians can then fabricate the final new smile exactly to the patients specifications. We have found communication to be a key component in the success Dr. Collier has been able to accomplish with reconstructive dentistry. It is an investment for our patients. We want our patients to know exactly what they are getting, with no guess-work. Once again, clear communication and a talented team has lead to a beautiful new smile and a patient so happy, tears came to his eyes upon seeing it for the first time. Dr. Collier and his team of assistants and lab technicians not only change smiles. They change lives!
