Memphis - Dental Implants by Our Dentists in Cordova, Tennessee
Do you have difficulty chewing or feelings of self-consciousness about your appearance because you are missing some or all of your teeth? If so, dental implants may be the ideal solution for you. With dental implants, you can have a full, permanent set of teeth that look and function as though they are your own natural teeth. At the Southern Dental Implant Center, serving the Memphis area, we offer dental implants and immediate function dental implants (Same Day Teeth™) to patients throughout Tennessee. Implants can give you back a full set of strong, healthy teeth and make you feel good about smiling again.
A dental implant is a titanium post that is placed in the jaw bone, where it replaces the missing natural tooth root. Due to the biocompatible nature of titanium, the jaw bone fuses to the implant, allowing it to serve as a strong foundation for a natural-looking artificial tooth. The final result is a remarkably strong, stable tooth that looks and functions just like a natural tooth.Learn More About What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants offer our patients a stable, aesthetically pleasing way to replace a missing tooth, restoring the ability to eat most foods and to smile with confidence. Implants don't effect surrounding teeth like traditional bridges do, and unlike removable dentures, there is never a risk of implants slipping out of place. Once the treatment is complete, the dental implants will become a durable, long-lasting part of your smile. A dental implant also stops the deterioration of bone that occurs at the site of a missing tooth, and helps preserve the bone mass around the implant once placed.Read More About Benefits of Dental Implants
The Dental Implant Placement Process
Patients from throughout the Memphis area visit the Southern Dental Implant Center for dental implants due to their reputation as an experienced implant clinic. Dr. Jason Collier will begin by determining whether you are a good candidate for implants. In general, you must have a sufficient amount of healthy bone in your jaw to support the implant post. If you don't have enough bone, a grafting procedure may be performed to ensure that the implant will have a strong foundation. If you are a suitable candidate for dental implants, Dr. Collier will plan your implant surgery procedure by determining the proper position of the post. He will then perform the surgical placement of the implant during a simple, in-office procedure.
In most cases, there will be a four-to-six-month healing period after the implant has been placed before the artificial tooth can be attached to the post. However, in some cases, our doctor can provide patients with Same Day Teeth™, also known as immediate dental implants.Contact Us to Learn More
Sedation Dentistry for Comfort and Convenience
To ensure that you remain comfortable, relaxed, and free from pain during the dental implant placement procedure, our dentists are certified to provide IV and oral conscious sedation dentistry. You will remain conscious during your procedure, but be in a state of relaxation in which you will not be able to feel pain. Our team will carefully monitor you throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort and safety. Afterwards, you will remember little to nothing of your implant procedure. Same Day Teeth™ (Immediate Dental Implants)
For patients who want a restored smile without the waiting time required for traditional dental implants, we are pleased to offer Same Day Teeth™. Also known as immediate function dental implants, Same Day Teeth™ eliminate the four-to-six month healing and implant integration period required before replacement teeth can be attached to traditional implants. Patients can have their dental implant posts placed and leave our office with stable, natural-looking teeth on that same day! Please note that immediate function dental implants are not the best choice for all patients. Like every procedure, our team individualizes implant placement and restoration to best meet your needs. Dental implant cost varies on a case-by-case basis and is affected by a number of factors, including the number of implants you have placed, and any preparatory procedures you need to undergo, like bone grafting. An implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture can free you from the worries associated with other restorative options, and with proper care, implants can last a lifetime. Our team can help discuss flexible financing options to break your treatment cost into affordable payments, so you can achieve the smile you deserve.Read More About Dental Implant Cost
