Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are one of the most exciting advances in cosmetic dentistry today. Applied in our Memphis, Tennessee, area office, porcelain veneers are thin, porcelain sheaths that are bonded permanently to the front of the tooth. Porcelain is durable and beautifully simulates the translucence and color of natural tooth enamel. Porcelain veneers can be used to conceal imperfections, close gaps between teeth, straighten the appearance of crooked teeth, and create a uniform, even smile. If you would like to improve the appearance of your smile, porcelain veneers might be just the right procedure for you. Memphis, Tennessee, area residents interested in porcelain veneers are encouraged to contact the Southern Dental Implant Center for further information.
Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns are tooth colored caps that are molded to fit over the top of a damaged, misshapen, or badly stained tooth. The crown supports the function of the tooth and bite, and improves the appearance of the smile overall. A well-designed crown permits normal chewing, preserves tooth structure by preventing further damage to the tooth, and blends seamlessly with the appearance of surrounding teeth. Ultimately, crowns can bring natural looking symmetry and beauty to the entire smile. To find out if porcelain crowns are the right option for you, please contact our Cordova, Tennessee, dental practice today.
Tooth Colored Fillings
It used to be that cavities could only be filled with unsightly metal fillings. Not anymore! Today, advances in dental material and techniques allow our dentists to repair cavities using modern tooth colored fillings. Tooth colored fillings – available at our Cordova, Tennessee, practice – are composed of composite plastics and resins that can exactly mimic the natural color and texture of teeth. And unlike metal fillings, tooth colored fillings are bonded directly to the tooth, making them both durable and easy to apply. If you are interested in tooth colored fillings and live in Memphis, Tennessee or the surrounding areas, our experienced staff would be happy to assist you. Please contact the Southern Dental Implant Center to learn more.
BriteSmile Teeth Whitening
One of the simplest and most dramatic things you can do to improve the appearance of your smile is to have teeth whitening performed. Over time, substances such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, and tobacco can all leave ugly stains on our enamel. Teeth whitening can reverse those effects, whitening teeth by five to ten shades!
In our Memphis, Tennessee, area office, teeth whitening with BriteSmile is one of our most widely requested procedures. BriteSmile is a simple, in-office whitening system that takes just one hour to perform. A hydrogen-peroxide gel is applied to the teeth, then activated by a patented, blue-spectrum light. Results are immediate and impressive. Memphis, Tennessee, area residents interested in teeth whitening are encouraged to contact our skilled cosmetic dentistry staff to learn more.
General Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry
Bridges
With modern porcelain bridges and dental implants, the dentists at the Southern Dental Implant Center can now repair missing teeth and gaps in your smile with strong, artificial teeth that look and function just like the real thing. Bridges, which are also called fixed partial dentures, fill gaps left by missing teeth and most commonly attach to crowns or dental implants. They effectively correct chewing and speaking difficulties, buttress and protect surrounding teeth, and restore a full, natural looking smile. To learn more about our bridge or implant options, please contact the Southern Dental Implant Center today.
Full Dentures
For individuals who have lost all of their teeth, our practice offers both dental implants and full dentures as options. Full dentures are a custom-molded dental appliance that fits snugly against gums. These replacement teeth can be attached through a variety of means, including adhesives, attachment to existing tooth roots, and dental implants. They allow patients to resume normal chewing and speaking, and they restore natural contours to the jaw and face. If you have lost all or most of your teeth and would like to explore your dental options, we can help. Contact us in our Cordova, Tennessee practice today.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures, also known as removable dentures, fill in gaps in the smile caused by missing teeth. Partial dentures are custom designed to the contours of a patient’s bite. Generally made from a combination of resin and metal, partial dentures are attached by discreet metal clasps or tooth-colored, precision attachments. Partial dentures restore a patient’s ability to chew comfortably, protect surrounding teeth from shifting or damage, and help maintain normal facial contours in the lips and cheeks. To find out if partial dentures might be a good solution for you, please contact our Memphis, Tennessee, area practice.
Same Day Teeth
“Same Day Teeth ” reduce or eliminate the waiting period for implant-supported, fixed teeth. They give the patient a more beautiful smile immediately! There’s no need to use an uncomfortable prosthesis; patients can instead have dental implants placed and leave with stable teeth the same day! Not all patients, however, are good candidates for “Same Day Teeth.” Find out more during a free consultation by contacting the Southern Dental Implant Center, or visit our implants page.
Preventative Dentistry
Our practice places a strong emphasis on preventative dental care. After all, isn’t keeping your own teeth the best long-term dental option of all? And while daily brushing and flossing are excellent for maintaining healthy teeth and gums between office visits, a healthy mouth requires routine general and preventative care with your dentist to stay strong and beautiful. The Southern Dental Implant Center offers comprehensive preventative and general dental care, including routine exams and cleanings, fluoride treatment, periodontal care, and professional breath control. Keep your smile strong, healthy, and gorgeous! Contact the Southern Dental Implant Center today to schedule an oral exam or cleaning.
Endodontics
Endodontic treatment, otherwise known as root canal therapy, is an important way of saving a tooth that is too deeply infected or injured to treat by other means. A deep infection is one that has reached the dental pulp at the center of the tooth. This long strand of pulp reaches down into the tooth’s root and supplies nerves and nutrients to the tooth. If it is infected or damaged, the nerves in the tooth will die, causing progressive pain and bone loss around the tooth if not treated. During endodontic treatment, the damaged pulp is removed through a small hole drilled in the crown of the tooth. The tooth is then sealed permanently with a tooth colored crown, restoring a strong, healthy tooth. To learn more about endodontic treatment, please contact our practice in Cordova, Tennessee, today.
Periodontics
Periodontal (gum) disease is a serious medical problem that, if left untreated, can result in more than just swollen, unsightly gums. It can cause teeth loss, bone deterioration and, in some cases, even more serious health consequences. Periodontal disease starts when bacteria found in plaque irritate the gums, causing inflammation. Known as gingivitis in these early stages, the first symptoms of periodontal disease include swollen and bleeding gums. Left untreated, the condition can progress, becoming a chronic bacterial infection between the teeth and gums. For periodontal disease that is detected early, Dr. Paul Bland, our resident periodontist, has a variety of effective techniques available to reverse tissue damage. If caught late, our expert cosmetic dentists can help restore a beautiful, natural looking smile. Contact the Southern Dental Implant Center today to learn more.
Periodontal Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery of the gums can help enhance the symmetry and esthetics of your entire smile. Sometimes teeth appear short when they are just covered up by too much “gum.” Or gums may recede excessively, making the teeth more susceptible to discomfort caused by hot or cold foods. By gently sculpting away some of the gum tissue, we can make your smile beautiful and pain free again! To learn more about
periodontal cosmetic surgery, please contact our cosmetic dentistry practice today.
Bad Breath Treatment
Bad breath, also called halitosis, is more than just embarrassing. It may be the symptom of an underlying health problem. In addition to pungent foods, bad breath is frequently caused by dry mouth condition, poor oral hygiene, or periodontal disease. There is no need to suffer with chronic bad breath. We offer effective treatments, such as anti-microbial mouthwash and specialized soft tissue treatments, to combat bad breath and the conditions that cause it. Let us help you find the cause of your halitosis and develop an effective treatment plan. Contact our Memphis, Tennessee, area office today for more information.
I.V. Sedation Dentistry
To ensure you feel comfortable, relaxed, and free from pain during your dental procedure, the dentists at the Southern Dental Implant Center are certified to provide conscious I.V. sedation dentistry at our Memphis, Tennessee, area office. During sedation, you will be conscious but in a state of total relaxation in which you feel no pain. Our certified team will carefully monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure to ensure your safety at all times. One advantage of conscious sedation is an “amnesia effect,” whereby most patients remember little to nothing of their dental procedure following treatment. If you would like to learn more about sedation dentistry at our Memphis, Tennessee, area office, please contact the Southern Dental Implant Center
